Why the insistence on “paganizing” Christianity. Yes, nothing exists in a vacuum. However, the teachings of Christ were a revolutionary break from elitist pagan hierarchical systems. Additionally, the similarities may exist only in so much as the older expressions were an incomplete forecasting (or a dialectic if you will) of a more spiritually mature faith. Hence, they are still observed and taught by people as diverse as Zapatista sympatheticos in native communities in Chiapas.
